Just how fierce was the OSU-Boise State lacrosse game on Sunday? Well, let’s put it this way — a Bronco team member got ejected from the game for stomping on a Beaver player who was lying down on the ground.

Some of the permitted and encouraged activities in the sport include checking and whacking the ballcarrier’s arms and hands with a lacrosse stick.

Tough stuff, this lacrosse. And exciting to watch, too.

The game was great, except that it seemed about 20 degrees outside and there was rain, sleet and, for a brief moment, snow. Here’s some video of things before the scene turned to ice planet Hoth.

If you’ve never seen lacrosse, you should head out to a game. It’s this great combination of hockey and soccer, if that makes any sense.
